Project Brief:
FICO is a financial consulting and business solutions firm. It has many differnet products for the different stages in the banking lifecycle. Being one of the first four members hired to setup the FICO UX group, I setup and developed FICO UX libraries which could be commonly used across all FICO products. This initiative was taken to maintain consistency in standards and UI guidelines to be followed across the FICO enterprise suite. The aim was not only to achieve consistency but also make task efficient and reduce rework.
Client: FICO (formerly Fair Isaac)
Collaborators: Mukul Bisht
Supervisor: Steve Dickman, UX Sr. Manager, FICO and Sean Van Tyne, UX Director, FICO
Nature of the Project: Industry Project
Duration: 8 months
Project Scope:
- Build a template that could be used for FICO personas. Study the existing FICO products. Conduct interviews to understand the user's perspective and roles played with respect to the product. Analyze data to identify common user traits to comeup with archetypes. Build personas for 2 different FICO products and make a guideline document to support future development of the persona library.
- Developed UI standards, guidelines, specifications and patterns library, following usability best practices, to be used across all FICO products to be integrated in the FICO enterprise Decision Managementâ„¢ suite. This document was used to conduct heuristic evaluations of the products and also to help the developers in constructing UX informed as well as consistent designs
- Build Usability table stating the different usability methods that are used in different stages of the Design Lifecycle. Construct a FIRUP (FICO Rapic Unified Process) UX table stating the inclusion of UX through different methods in the FIRUP phases. This document was posted on the UX Intranet site of FICO and was used to guide project managers about ways to include UX in their product lifecycle.
